Test & vergelijk Raamafdichting
Een raamafdichting is een strook isolatiemateriaal die op het kozijn tussen de raamvleugel en het kozijn wordt aangebracht. Moderne ramen zijn meestal strak, maar in de loop der jaren kan de uitlijning en positie veranderen door trekkrachten. Dit kan leiden tot lekken. Een raamafdichting wordt ook gebruikt om te voorkomen dat er warmte door deze spleet ontsnapt. Het zorgt voor een veel hogere warmte-isolatie en kan gemakkelijk worden toegepast op alle soorten ramen. Het materiaal is meestal een synthetische afdichting op basis van schuim en siliconen. Dit geeft ze een lange levensduur en zorgt voor een effectieve afdichting door een hoge elasticiteit.
De eisen die aan een raamafdichting worden gesteld zijn niet zo hoog als men in eerste instantie zou denken. Dit is wat de raamafdichtingstest heeft uitgewezen. Zo hoeft het materiaal alleen maar elastisch genoeg te zijn om zich aan te passen aan de constante vervormingen die worden veroorzaakt door het openen en sluiten van de ramen. Bovendien moet de kunststof goed hechten aan het frame, wat meestal wordt bereikt door speciale kleefvlakken die al op de stroken zijn bevestigd. Het moet mogelijk zijn om het zegel als yardware aan te schaffen, zodat het aan het eind gemakkelijk op maat kan worden gesneden. Het materiaal moet ook weerbestendig blijken, omdat het altijd wordt blootgesteld aan de effecten van het klimaat.
Er is geen definitief inlegkader voor de raamafdichting. Het kan worden gebruikt in alle gebouwen en ook in alle Er moeten afsluitbare openingen worden aangebracht. Met de juiste kit kan een deur ook ondoordringbaar worden gemaakt voor warmte. Dit bleek heel duidelijk uit de raamafdichtingstest, want de resultaten en successen waren in alle gevallen hetzelfde. De afdichtingsmiddelen worden gebruikt als permanente afdichting in kantoorgebouwen – waar de ramen meestal niet geopend kunnen worden – en in alle particuliere woningen en andere voorzieningen. Een beperking wordt alleen opgelegd door de grootte van de ramen, want hoe breder het kozijndeel voor de afdichting, hoe groter de afdichtingsstrips die moeten worden aangeschaft.
Er zijn eigenlijk geen echte alternatieven die zonder hoge kosten kunnen worden gebruikt. Het probleem kan echter worden voorkomen, omdat uit tests van de raamafdichting is gebleken dat ramen met geïntegreerde afdichtingen een zeer goed effect hebben. Dit is zelfs beter dan wanneer alleen normale afdichtingen worden gebruikt. Dergelijke raammodellen zijn echter ook zeer duur in aanschaf, zodat bij de planning van het gebouw rekening moet worden gehouden met de installatie ervan.
Een ander alternatief is een afsluitbaar luik dat eenvoudigweg voor de ramen wordt vergrendeld. Ondanks de goede isolerende werking wordt het zicht naar buiten echter geblokkeerd totdat de luiken weer worden geopend. Een methode die niet noodzakelijkerwijs iedereen aanspreekt.

Een bekende fabrikant is de firma Schlegel uit Hamburg. Dit bedrijf levert al jaren allerlei soorten afdichtingsmiddelen aan haar klanten en natuurlijk zitten er ook raamafdichtingen tussen. De materialen worden gekenmerkt door een bijzonder hoge weerstand en kan ook de krachten van de natuur weerstaan. Bovendien zijn ze zeer elastisch en passen ze zich bijzonder goed aan de ramen aan.
Een andere fabrikant is het bedrijf SDW. Deze producten vertegenwoordigen de laatste stand van de techniek, omdat de verschillende afdichtingen een zeer goed sluitend vermogen hebben en zeer dicht bij het oppervlak liggen door een speciale constructiemethode met behulp van nanodeeltjes. Dit betekent dat er nauwelijks warmte naar buiten kan ontsnappen. Zodat deze zeehonden echt een investering waard zijn.
Echt nieuwe ontwikkelingen op het gebied van raamafdichtingen worden meestal tevergeefs gezocht. Afgezien van de nano-gebaseerde materialen zijn er nauwelijks ontwikkelingen die de markt op dit moment revolutioneren. Dit toont aan dat de tot nu toe gebruikte systemen een hoge mate van effectiviteit hebben bereikt en dat verbeteringen zeer moeilijk te realiseren zijn. Hier wordt de resterende voorraad nog steeds verkocht in de overeenkomstige hoeveelheid en dit meestal tegen zeer lage prijzen. Er is geen nadeel aan versies die net uit de fabriek komen.
Het is belangrijk dat de pakkingen echt dichtgaan, dus u moet direct na ontvangst of al in de winkel een lichte druktest doen. In deze test wordt het materiaal met de vingers geperst. Als de pakking strak en soepel aan de vingers past, dan heb je op dit punt een goed model gekocht. U moet ook aandacht besteden aan het kleefoppervlak, want dit moet een weersbestendige universele lijm zijn. Alleen dit kan zich goed hechten aan de meestal zeer gladde oppervlakken van moderne ramen. Maar je hoeft je geen zorgen te maken over de lengte. Alle pakkingen kunnen eenvoudig met een schaar op de gewenste maat worden geknipt.
Helaas zijn er geen echte accessoires voor raamafdichtingen. Normaal gesproken zou dit ook niet zinvol zijn, omdat speciale lijm slechts voor een zeer klein aantal versies nodig is. Ook zijn er geen speciale snij-instrumenten nodig, zodat raamafdichtingen eigenlijk heel eenvoudig te verkrijgen onderdelen zijn. Hier is het beter om te investeren in een tweede set pakkingen, omdat op deze manier, in het geval van een schade, de oude eenvoudigweg kan worden vervangen.
